In order to combat the high rate of obesity in the United States, President Barack Obama signed into law requiring fast-food restaurants to list calories and nutritional value of their offers on the boards, menus and windows service the file.
This effort is part of health reform is intended to provide consumers with information on the nutritional value of food clearly so they can make the best choices with your diet.
Many restaurants offer the calorie content of their offers on posters in the halls of the restaurant, wraps sandwiches or website, and now the new law requires it immediately.
The restaurants are not required to include special offers available calories less than 60 days. This law applies to vending machines for snacks that do not display the nutritional information on the front of the package. These requirements will be imposed by the Food Control Department (Food and Drug Administration in English) that could result in fines and criminal charges not to be obeyed.
The City of New York was the first to implement this law, California and Seattle followed.
